COLAGO go Green

The protection of our environment is important to us. That’s why we have built our villas as sustainably as possible, using natural materials, ensuring your comfort from the very first minute.

Originally, our villas were farmhouses and barns. We have preserved the typical facades of this area, creating units that comply with the highest energy class standards and have an energy demand of less than 149.59 kWh/m² per villa.

Heating, cooling, and hot water are primarily generated by three solar thermal systems covering a total area of 100 square meters. The remaining energy needs are met by an advanced pellet condensing boiler that also utilizes the residual heat from the exhaust gases. The certified pellets consist of pure local and 100% regional spruce wood, sourced from sawmills in the surrounding villages and valleys. Most insulation panels in the floors are CAM-certified, proving a portion of recycled materials in their production.

A comprehensive and vital rainwater recovery system is installed on the premises. All rainwater from impermeable surfaces is collected in no less than 6 underground tanks with a total capacity of 130,000.0 cubic meters (130,000,000.0 liters). Various submersible pumps located in the tanks, powered by the resort’s photovoltaic system, pump the water into the irrigation system for the entire resort.

All accommodations are equipped with controlled mechanical ventilation to prevent the loss of valuable ambient heat.

Additionally, all floors are radiation-free, meaning they utilize heat radiation and operate at low temperatures, resulting in approximately 15% energy savings compared to conventional air systems (convection systems).

Electricity is generated by a photovoltaic system producing 50 kilowatts, covering the needs of the entire facility.

Finally, the products used for breakfast preparation are sourced locally, at km 0, minimizing packaging and waste by employing environmentally friendly products, thereby limiting their impact on the environment.

The nature surrounding us is our most precious asset. Preserving it and respecting its resources are integral parts of our concept and deeply important to us. We also encourage our guests to practice responsible resource management during their stay.
